Milos - The Voice of the Guitar
7:30PM, Tuesday, September 24, 2019
Venue: Darlington Hippodrome
A journey through music and time using the classical guitar and its unique voice as a vehicle to showcase the full range of colours and influences through the works and musicians that defined it. If the composers in this programme seem unfamiliar, the music will be better known. More familiar composers reflect Milos's classical training at the Royal Academy of Music, whilst other pieces demonstrate the link to his early training in Montenegro and his interest in the guitar as an instrument that is an intrinsic part of the Mediterranean environment he grew up in. Andres Segovia was an influence and the latter part of the programme demonstrates Milos's devotion to the music of Latin America and the expansion of the technical and expressive qualities of his instrument. To conclude, Milos plays the music of The Beatles.
