Following the retirement of the current manager, we are seeking an exceptional person to manage all aspects of Darlington Hippodrome's performance space and also the theatre within the adjacent Hullabaloo, a new centre of excellence for young audiences.
Darlington Hippodrome is a 1000 seat, grade II listed Edwardian theatre. It is owned and operated by Darlington Borough Council and is at the heart of Darlington's cultural offer and its sense of community. It is an exciting opportunity to join the theatre team at a key time, following a £13.7m restoration funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, which has both conserved the theatre and created a thrilling new 21st Century theatre offer.
As the successful candidate you will have a wealth of technical knowledge, acquired from experience in the industry, with a proven track record of delivering excellence in all areas of theatre presentation. A creative and dedicated professional with management experience and a passion for theatre, you will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as a positive and flexible approach to problem solving.
Your rewards for working at the Hippodrome go beyond the salary you will receive. Lots of benefits are included in our employment terms and conditions, such as 31 days annual leave and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme to name but a few.
