The story so far
Since 1907, the theatre has welcomed some of the world’s finest performers to its historic stage. Our £12.3 million capital project will result in the transformation of the building, securing the theatre for current and future generations to enjoy.
The restoration will enable the theatre to expand its artistic programme and make significant access improvements including public lifts and wheelchair access to all levels. The building’s footprint will be enlarged enabling us to offer a programme of year-round events and access to daytime facilities. Newly installed heritage seating will provide greater comfort, increased legroom and improved sightlines.
